PROJECTS
During the last ten years TSR research group has lead several projects in cooperation with private companies and public institutions. These projects have focused on digital broadcast technologies.
This experience includes simulation tools, propagation and coverage studies, evaluation and performance tests for digital standards, software tools for signal generation and analysis, design of new planning methodologies, optimization techniques, field trials and a large list of activities related to digital broadcasting.
The group has participated to the first activities related to DVB-T developments in the middle nineties and nowadays is involved in the development of new standards such as DVB-T2 and DVB-NGH.
It is also remarkable the experiences in the field of radio broadcasting with the DRM consortium, leading the field testing effort in Spain, Mexico, Brazil, India and cooperating also in additional field trials worldwide.
The research group has carried out an extense list of projects for the major companies of the broadcasting industry in Spain, including network operators, transmitter manufacturers and consumer electronics firms.
The group has also experience in projects with international well known partners of the broadcasting industry.
TSR research group has also carried out several projects, as an uninterested party, in order to provide objective and unbiased results on the impact of wind farms on telecommunication services. These studies include evaluation of the potential impact of a wind farm on the telecommunications services before its installation, measurements of radioelectric noise from wind turbines, field trials to evaluate the degradation of the television reception quality due to the installation of a wind farm and technical support for the wind farm promoters, including presentation of the results and meetings with several public institutions, telecommunication operators and meteorological agencies.
