Sánchez-Mazas Chair

ABOUT US

The Area of Research and Management of Science, Technology and Innovation Networks is developed in the context of the Cátedra Sánchez-Mazas at the Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU).

Research is based on a series of projects which purpose is to develop:

  • Conceptual and methodological approaches based on knowledge networks and innovation networks;
  • Policy diagnosis and proposals aiming to promote socially inclusive connectivity strategies, to strengthen and develop regional innovation spaces;
  • Mechanisms to foster the interrelation and connectivity between social actors, innovation agents and knowledge producers;
  • Construction and validation of socio-relational indicators of Science, Technology and Innovation.

With reference to the management the purpose of the Area is to participate as a node of diverse academic and social networks, both locally and internationally. Network participation responds to a necessity of the Basque universities to accumulate experience on complex networks management, encourage new ways of institutional management, promote spaces for social learning based on knowledge interchange, and facilitate citizens' participation in topics related to Science, Technology and Innovation.
