R2TAF
The Spanish Network for Advanced Manufacturing Technologies

About us

The Spanish Network for Advanced Manufacturing Technologies R2-TAF aims at becoming a platform for interchange of experiences and knowledge between the different agents involved in education, research and industrial production in the field of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies.

This interchange is directed to the promotion of innovation in manufacturing processes and machine-tools manufacture, with special attention paid at production means and their interaction with the process, in such a way that industrial companies, educational institutions and research groups benefit from it. The short name R2-TAF refers to how resources can be effectively boosted through the cooperation between agents.

In order to do so, the objective of the Network is to facilitate the activities of their members, and more precisely:
To support research activities and improve the dissemination of results.
To establish new relations between Spanish research groups in order to generate a critical research mass that can face new challenges. Moreover, the Network promotes cooperation activities with foreign Universities and technological centres, especially in Latin America.
To promote R&D activities in Industry, as well as collaborative R&D involving Universities, technological centres and industrial companies.
To make optimal use of the manufacturing resources within Universities and technological centres in order to train young researchers.
To actively promote the increase of quality scientific production in the Spanish University.
To promote Standardisation and Unification of nomenclature and concepts in the field of processes, machines and methodologies used in manufacturing.
To create a unified inventory of resources related to Advanced Manufacturing Technologies
To propose recommendations and plans for training of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies in the Spanish University and in other levels of education.
To actively promote equal rights and opportunities in gender issues within the Network, both in public institutions and in private companies.
To disseminate the need and the technologies required to produce environmentally-friendly manufacturing cultures and sustainable growth.

Thus, the Network establishes itself as a multidisciplinary and open cooperation space, working in the area of machine tools and manufacture, in order to increase the quality of R&D and educational actions. The improvement of all the members is an objective of the Network, which in turn will strengthen the overall capabilities of the Spanish system.
