The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) has just published the data corresponding to 2011 and which places the Revista de Psicodidáctica journal of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in second place in Spain amongst the 41 Social Sciences journal indexed at the ISI. Moreover, the index of 2.667 obtained has meant the journal has become the sixth with the greatest influence in Education and Psychology content at an international level.
The UPV/EHU’s Revista de Psicodidáctica was first published in 1996 and since then has published two issues annually and in which a total of 20 articles, both in paper and electronic format, have appeared. The content encompasses Psychology and Educational Science, particularly Educational Psychology. The goal of the publication is to equip professionals in education and psychology with the latest tools in educational innovation in order to facilitate learning at all educational levels.
The journal is supported by the Publishing Service of the UPV/EHU, the articles therein having to pass a meticulous reviewing process which includes recommendations for improvement from the journal’s Board of Directors, as well as from at least two external evaluators from the UPV/EHU. Moreover, the published articles are available both in English and in a second language, thus ensuring accessibility throughout the world.
The Board of Directors is made up of seven lecturers from the various University Schools of Education and from the Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences of Education at the UPV/EHU, under the leadership of Professor Alfredo Goñi Grandmontagne. In the opinion of Professor Goñi, one of the main reasons for the rise of the journal in the ISI ranking is due to “the scientific rigour and meticulousness demanded for the publication of articles in the journal and which has attracted the interest of numerous researchers to publish therein”.
