The recently implemented, common European Higher Education configuration, adopted by over 45 countries and known as the Bologna Process, is based on a Degree-Master-PhD structure. The Basque Country will execute the 4+1 schema: undergraduate programmes consist of 240 ECTS credits (structured in 4 years of study); masters can vary between 60 and 120 ECTS credits (1-2 years) and access to PhD studies needs the completion of a master course.
We offer a total number of 106 undergraduate programmes in our three campuses. The European Credit Transfer System allows all official syllabi throughout the continent to be easily recognized; hence, mobility opportunities are dramatically increased.
The University of the Basque Country applies the IKD model to all its syllabi. The Cooperative and Dynamic learning method is centered in student´s learning and furthermore based on training programs for faculty development in active learning methodologies; it has developed ICTs applied to education and has initiated processes of review and improvement of competences and learning outcomes in order to meet the requirements of the Bologna Process.
*Master will commence as the first promotion of the new syllabus terminates the BSc.
