Finding Lodging

One of the most common worries of recently arrived students is finding lodging.

To find lodging the following steps will be very useful:

The lodging options from which you may choose from are:

- 1. Student Residencies and College Dorms. They usually offer lodging services in full or half pension, single or double rooms, and different facilities for culture, sports, etc. You may check what each one offers.  Prices are generally on a monthly basis.

NB:

  • The majority of Student Residence and School Dorms request a guarantee and bond deposit to be made, equivalent to a month rent.
  • Pay attention to the gender preferences, some of them are not Coed.
  • Each has its own application procedures and dates

2.  - Rooms in shared flats. They are the most demanded and liked option by students.

Finding and adequate flat. To understand how a city functions it is helpful to have lived in it for a few days. It might be useful to lodge for the first days in a College Residence, School Dorm or Pension while you search for a room or flat.

2. 1 Pensions and hostals for your first days in the Basque Country:

Bizkaia : www.albergue.bilbao.net (Bilbao)
other pensions in the Bilbao area

Araba: www.hoteldato.com (Vitoria)
Other pensions in Vitoria
Guipuzkoa: Albergue la Sirena (San Sebastián)
Other pensions in Donostia-San Sebastian

NB: Some pensions also rent rooms on a monthly basis.
