Date: Thu, 23 Oct 2003 12:37:21 +0800 Dear friends, I have just processed the Juptier image captured in this morning after read the message by Frank concerning about the dark spot feature. Sorry that the exact UT time is not avaliable now as I forgot to get back my observing log book. The should be around 22:10UT. I checked the SKY software and there was double transit occurred at that time. According to the software, the bright spot at the preceding side was Io and the Ganymede should be near central meridian above NEB ... However, I could not differentiate whether the "dark spot" near the CM on my image was Ganymede itself or the dark feature in NEB mentioned by Frank. I am really confused ... The dark condensation on STemp region at following side could be seen on this image too. http://www.ort.cuhk.edu.hk/ericng/jup-2003102222xxUT-eric.jpg May the expereinced observers and experts kindly commented on it? Seeing was really bad as transparency was low as usual and the cloud formed on eastern sky near sunrise this morning, I could only capture it through the cloud gap ... Thanks for your help Eric Ng P.S. I shall post the exact time to here once I check my log book.
