Hi all, Here are some Jupiter images from Dec 23rd, 24th, 26th, 27th, 29th, 30th, Jan 1st, 2nd. On Jan 1st and 2nd, i used a Philips Webcam to obtain the images, which gives quite a "natural" appearance to the Planet. Image details are: Dec 23rd: Area p. the GRS. Dec 24th: GRS area, showing the rifted NTB, and SSTC ovals. Dec 26th: GRS area, rifted NTB, and SSTC ovals again. Dec 27th: Oval BA area. Dec 29th: Area f. GRS, showing bright post GRS turbulence rifts. Dec 30th: Oval BA, and area p. GRS. Jan 1st: Area p. Oval BA, and NEBn barges. Shadow of IV visible. Note SEBs jetstream spots. Jan 2nd: Area p. the GRS. Note the bright equator/dark poles on Io in the double transit image. The second set, with the GRS on the meridian was obtained in poor seeing, and no such result could have been obtained with the cooled camera. Also, are two images of the Jovian moons. One showing a partial occultation of Callisto by Io, and another showing a close pass of Ganymede and Io, both having emerged from transit. Ganymede showing Galileo reigo (which was easily seen visually at 440x.) All full image details are in the txt files. Best Wishes Damian JUPITER IMAGES, JANUARY 2nd, 2003. D. A.
