I have attached a set of images captured on Nov 16. They include IR and Methane band images. There is a great deal of activity along the north edge of the NEB, with several large dark marking present, the preceeding pair appear to have a loop of material between them which is contrasted against the EZ. There is also a dark spot in the STeZ or on the edge of the STeB which can be seen approaching the CM as the image sequences proceed. There appears to be a lighterzone immediately preceeding this spot which is especially visible in the methane images. Io is emerging from behind the Disk of Jupiter in a few images, cropped out of most though. All images taken through my 30cm SCT at F40 (eyepiece projection) and Pixcel 237 CCD camera. I was trying a new setup and got the f ratio too high. This resulted in longer exposures than ideally required. Seeing was good, 6/10 on average. Air temp was -12c. Please let me know if you have any questrions. Take care, Brian Brian Colville Maple Ridge Observatory www.quicklinks.on.ca/~maple maple@quicklinks.on.ca
