I am interested in evolutionary transitions as the emergence of new
forms of ontogeny. Actually I am working on the origin of multicellular
organisms defined as a process that re-creates the conditions for its
reproduction. This process implies the integration of the environmental
and the cell levels through evolved self-imposed constraints.
Integration may be seen from two distinct perspectives: life cycles and
morphological development; my work is about understanding that
integration during evolution and its impact on evolution itself.
