How to install Springer LNCS Style for Lyx

Many steps here are in excess, they won't hurt your computer, just put more files where they don't need to be.

If you discover the really needed steps between these, I would appreciate your comments. I don't know if the correct steps are (2 and 3) or (4 and 5).

1- Download llncs.zip and llncs2e.zip from [1].

2- Extract the contents of llncs.zip in /usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/llncs/

3- Extract the contents of llncs2e.zip in /usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/llncs2e/

4- Extract the contents of llncs.zip in /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/llncs/

5- Extract the contents of llncs2e.zip in /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/llncs2e/

6- Execute the command: sudo texhash

7- Open Lyx and execute Tools -> Reconfigure.

8- Restart Lyx.

Mac

For Mac installation you have some comments the Lyx Wiki.

Windows

For poor Windows users I've found some tips here.

El link tiene un par de erratas. Este es el proceso:

  1. Descargar llncs2e.zip, que contiene llncs.cls y llncsdoc.sty .
  2. Copiar esos ficheros a la carpeta ...\MiKTeX 2.7\tex\latex\lncs , donde ...\MiKTeX 2.7 es la carpeta en la que MiKTeX está instalado. En algunos sistemas, copiar a ...\MiKTeX 2.7\texmf\latex\lncs. La carpeta lncs probablemente sea necesario crearla.
  3. Ejecutar "texhash" desde la línea de comandos.
  4. Run MikTex Settings. Press “Refresh FNDB” under General. Then, possibly, “Update Formats”.
  5. Abrir Lyx y seleccionar Herramientas -> Reconfigurar.
  6. A partir de ese momento, la clase "articulo (Springer LNCS)" estará disponible en el menú Documento -> Configuración... en el desplegable "Clase del documento".
