About us

Faculty of Chemistry, Donostia-San Sebastián

Our group studies the development of Aspergillus nidulans as a model eukaryotic organism. The limited number of cell types produced during its life-cycle renders Aspergillus nidulans a good model for the study of these processes. In addition, it is closely related to other fungi of great economic impact as Aspergillus oryzae or Aspergillus fumigatus. We analyze the function of regulatory factors that play a key role in cellular transformations.

In addition, we isolate and characterize metabolites that participate in developmental signaling in Aspergillus nidulans and pathogenic fungi.
