Semilinear wave and Schrodinger equations on domains

We'll review recent results for the critical wave equation on 3D domains (joint work with N. Burq and G. Lebeau) as well as the subcritical Schrodinger equation on nontrapping exterior domains (joint work with L. Vega). In both cases the results rely in an essential way on simple yet effective integration by parts arguments.
