On the radiation fields for nonlinear wave equations
exterior to an obstacle

In this talk I wish to discuss about the life span of
solutions for the mixed problem of nonlinear wave equations
in 3D. Our aim is to characterize it in terms of the
nonlinearity and the initial data through the radiation fields,
and to point out a meaning of the null condition.
This talk is based on a joint work with Prof. Katayama.
