Syntactic and semantic cross-linguistic adult sentence comprehension in native and nonnative speakers, second language acquisition, Romance and Basque syntax and morphology
Leticia Pablos is a lecturer at the English and German Philology Department at the University of the Basque Country. She is currently working in the research project "Structural and Semantic Licensing of Negative Polarity Dependencies in Spanish and Basque" within the research group Gogo Elebiduna (The Bilingual Mind), together with Prof. Itziar Laka and Professor Douglas Saddy from the University of Reading (UK).
She studied English Language and Linguistics at the University of Deusto (1999) and received her PhD in Linguistics at the University of Maryland in 2006, where she worked at the Cognitive Neuroscience of Language Laboratory; her thesis being about pre-verbal structure building in Romance Languages (Spanish & Galician) and Basque. She spent two years (2006-2008) as a Post-doctoral Researcher at the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences at the University of Reading (UK) where she worked in the group of Professor Douglas Saddy. Her areas of specialization are psycholinguistics (in particular sentence comprehension) and theoretical linguistics (syntax).
